Quiet Givers Distributes $10,000 in Urgent Grants to Address Food Insecurity Across The High Country

Local nonprofit rapidly mobilized donors to provide critical food assistance across Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties during unprecedented benefit delay.

BOONE, N.C. - November 24, 2025 -

Quiet Givers, a nonprofit dedicated to providing anonymous, needs-based assistance, announced today the distribution of $10,000 in emergency grants to eight local partner agencies addressing critical food insecurity across Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties.

The grant initiative was launched in response to the unprecedented need and anticipated suffering caused by delays in the distribution of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits this month.

"The mission of Quiet Givers is to fill gaps in our community and the SNAP benefit delay presented a critical, time-sensitive need that demanded our action," said Angela Loos, Executive Director. "Our donors responded immediately to ensure we could provide this $10,000 in support. By funneling these grants directly through our community partners, we are maximizing the impact and delivering crucial food assistance when our families need it most, especially during the holiday season."

The Board of Quiet Givers approved the distribution of eight equal grants of $1,250 to existing agencies and organizations that specialize in efficient food distribution. This strategic approach ensures the funds are quickly translated into meals for local families in need across the High Country.

The following agencies will each receive a $1,250 grant:

Avery: Feeding Avery Families, Reaching Avery Ministry

Ashe: Ashe Really Cares, Ashe Outreach

Watauga: Brushy Fork Baptist Blessings Bin, Casting Bread, F.A.R.M. Cafe, Todd's Table

"The rapid response of our donors made this $10,000 distribution possible. As we look ahead, we know the demand for food and essential support will only increase during the holiday

months. We invite the community to continue partnering with us to ensure no family has to go without during this critical time," says Stephen McDaniel, Board President for Quiet Givers.

Working collaboratively with these eight community partners, Quiet Givers ensures that $10,000 in emergency funding can quickly assist with vital food assistance across Watauga, Ashe, and Avery counties. Quiet Givers continues to fulfill its mission to provide innovative, needs-based assistance that ensures community members facing setbacks can access essential support.
