Downtown Boone Parking Changes for Appalachian State Events
Town of Boone, North Carolina— At its August 13th meeting, the Boone Town Council voted
to implement a uniform two-hour parking limit for all Downtown Boone public parking spaces
during large Appalachian State University events. This initiative is designed to ensure that
parking remains accessible to downtown businesses, their employees, and visitors during periods
of increased demand.
While most downtown meters are already subject to a two-hour limit, locations that previously
permitted extended parking of up to nine hours, including the Queen Street lot, the North Depot
Street lot, and the King Street lot, will now also be restricted to a maximum of two hours on
game days. This parking change will go into effect on September 6th. The multi-hour parking
lots will be subject to this change on the following dates:

kiosks either a day in advance or the day of the event, weather dependent, to inform those who
wish to park in those lots ahead of time. For more information on this change, please contact
