May Sentenced 25 years in Prison

Jefferson N.C. – On Monday, May 19th 2025, Adam Michael May pled guilty in Ashe County Superior Court after being charged in 2024 with several counts of Statutory Rape of a child and felonious sexual offensives.

On July 6th, 2024, the Ashe County Sheriff's Office was notified of a minor with allegations of rape and inappropriate conduct. Detective Curtis Elliott initiated an investigation and was able to obtain evidence against the suspect, Adam May. Warrants were issued for May on this date, but the suspect fled Ashe County to Tennessee.

On July 10th, Detective Elliott, with the help of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, located May in a hotel in Mountain City, TN. He was transported to the Johnson County Detention Center without further incident.

Adam Micheal May original charges in 2024 included two Counts Felony Stat Rape of Child by Adult, four Counts Felony Indecent Liberties with Child, Felony First Degree Statutory Sex, and Felony Fugitive Extradition Other State. Monday, May 19th, 2025, May was sentenced to 25 to 35 years in prison for these charges.
