A win, and the Pioneers defend their Northwestern Conference title, and they also nail down the No. 1 seed in the conference going into the state playoffs. The Watauga High football team has dominated Freedom in recent years. The Pioneers have won three straight in this series, and Friday night, WHS marches its way into Morganton for a first-place showdown with the Patriots.
