BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's basketball team had the magic touch from beyond the arc Saturday afternoon at Williams Gymnasium as the Bobcats connected on 19 three-pointers to knock off North Greenville, 94-61. The win is the sixth straight for Lees-McRae, and it moves the team's record to 18-7 overall and 12-4 in conference play.

BOSTON - Just nine weeks out from the Boston Marathon, ZAP / Reebok resident athletes Tyler Pennel and Nicole Dimercurio stepped down in distance and visited Bean Town for a shorter event - the 5,000m - at the Bruce Lehane Valentine Indoor Track & Field Invitational at Boston University.

CONWAY, S.C. – Junior Ronshad Shabazz (Raleigh, N.C./Huntington Prep) scored his 500th point of the season as the Appalachian State men's basketball team posted 81-66 road victory at Coastal Carolina on Saturday. Shabazz registered his milestone point on a free throw at the 4:05 mark of the second half. It marks the 21st time in program history that a player has reached 500 points in a season. In addition, he joins Donald Sims, D.J. Thompson, Dave Abernathy and Don King as the only players to score 500 or more points in two separate seasons (scored 502 points last season). He would finish the contest with 19 points, three rebounds and a career-high tying three steals.


WINSTON-SALEM - Sarah LaTour was Cuthbertson’s lone individual event champion as she claimed the 3200 meter run. LaTour dominated the race, posting a time of 11:03.16, besting second place Jonna Strange from North Iredell who finished in 11:14.92.
