BOONE - The Winston-Salem Journal is reporting that Appalachian State University football coach Eliah Drinkwitz has completed his coahcing staff by hiring Shelby native Charlie Habison as a defensive assistant.

A 14-0 first quarter run paced the Watauga High girl's basketball team Thursday night as they bested Ashe County for the fifth straight time, Blaine St. Claire and Anderson Castle combined for 47 points in the boys games as they snapped their two-game losing streak.
