BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State head football coach Eliah Drinkwitz added another key piece to his inaugural staff Saturday with the hire of championship-winning North Carolina high school coach and Appalachian alum Lance Ware as senior assistant to the head coach.

Watauga High boy's basketball coach Rob Sanders became the school's all time leader in career wins as the Pioneers rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit and beat West Caldwell 64-57 on Senior Night at Lentz-Eggers Gym. Garrett Riley Joins App State Football Staff

BOONE, N.C. — A fast riser in the football coaching profession, Garrett Riley has been tabbed as Appalachian State’s newest assistant coach, head coach Eliah Drinkwitz announced Friday. Riley will mentor the Mountaineer running backs.
