Watauga High Athletic Director Tom Wright has announced that the Watauga High baseball game at North Davidson and the softball game at Wilkes Central on Thursday have been postponed.

But the games have been rescheduled. The WHS baseball team (1-0) will play North Davidson Friday night in Lexington at 7 pm; the WHS softball team will play its season opener tomorrow night in Morganton against Freedom. Thursday's game with Wilkes Central has been rescheduled for Saturday.
Men's golf at Lenior and men's tennis at R.J. Reynolds are still on and will be played as scheduled. Results will be heard Friday morning at 6:45 on WATA 1450 AM.
Our first broadcast of WHS baseball will be next Friday night, March 12 on Oldies 100.7 FM beginning at 6 pm.  The Pioneers will open Northwestern 3A/4A Conference play against South Caldwell.

NOTES: The WHS baseball team will hit the road for a pair of big games the next few days. The Pioneers travel to the Olympic Complex in Cary Saturday to play Graham, the pre-season No.1 team in the state in Class 2A, at 2 pm. Then they play Mount Tabor at Ernie Shore Field in Winston-Salem next Tuesday.
