BOONE, N.C. — App State center Baer Hunter has been invited to this month's FBS All Americans Tropical Bowl in Orlando, Fla.

Scheduled for Jan. 15, the all-star game will be played in Orlando's Camping World Stadium.

Hunter, who moved from guard to center before his final season, earned All-America Honorable Mention recognition from Phil Steele after being the leader of an offensive line that allowed only 17 sacks (tied for No. 11 nationally at 1.2 per game) and averaged 34.5 points a game (23rd-best nationally). PFF College assigned him a run-blocking grade of 82.6 that ranked No. 3 among Group of Five centers, and his 972 snaps ranked No. 7 among FBS centers.

Hunter is one of six outgoing seniors with a postseason all-star game invitation at this point, joining D'Marco Jackson (Reese's Senior Bowl on Feb. 5), Demetrius Taylor (Hula Bowl on Jan. 15), Jalen Virgil (Hula Bowl), Corey Sutton (NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 29) and Shaun Jolly (East-West Shrine Bowl on Feb. 3).
