The Equip Ministries baseball teams of Boone, N.C., are competing in the Cal Ripken State Tournament this weekend. Here are Saturday's results....

U10 -- The Equip U10 baseball team suffered a pair of losses on Saturday, falling to Pineville 1-0 in the opener, and after it received the No. 3 seed in bracket play, the U10 team lost to Davidson 5-3 and was eliminated.

U9 -- Equip dropped a 7-4 decision to Waxhaw in their opening game on Saturday, but bounced back in bracket play to beat Iredell County, 18-6. They play Southwestern Athletics today in an elimination game.

U7 -- The U7 team finished state tournament play with a 2-2 record. They lost to Matthews 15-0 on Friday night, but they bounced back to beat Alexander County 18-3 on Saturday. Isaac Burroughs went 3-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run. Bryce Sutherland went 4-for-4; Easton Casey, Lawson Isaacs and Gwen Fox all went 3-for-3.

U12 -- The Equip U12 team has advanced to the state quarterfinals following a solid performance on Saturday at the state tournament. They defeated MARA-Matthews 4-2 to complete pool play. Hunter Townsend hit his second home run of the tournament. Luke Rothrock and Landon Liner combined to shutdown MARA-Matthews. The only blemish was a two-run homer. They play in the quarterfinal round today.

U11 -- The Equip U11 team continued it’s winning streak on Saturday by blasting Union County 11-0 on Saturday  at the state tournament.  Chase Watts and Bray Gough pitched a combined no-hitter in the win.  Justice Hendley had a run-scoring triple, and Avery Westphal went 2-for-3, scored two runs and drove in a run.

The Equip 11U played Surry County in the state semifinals Sunday morning, winning, 8-2.  Jack Bridgeman pitched 4.2 innings for the win, yielding two hits and striking out four. Bray Gough finished the game for the save, tossing 1.1 scoreless innings.  Offensively, Chase Watts went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI; Zack Woody was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.

The U11 team will play the state championship game Sunday at 2 p.m., against either South West Forsyth Athletics and Pineville-Charlotte.
