Watauga High baseball coach Ethan Gre3ne recaps last week's games, and he talks about this weeks upcoming schedule with WATA Radio....

Fundraiser for Ward/Fox Families & Law Enforcement Recognition

The tragic events of last week have hit our community harder than anything I can remember. Both Sgt Ward and K-9 Dep. Fox made a tremendous impact on our community and the void left by their absence will never be filled.

Our team wants to do anything we can to support the families of Sgt Ward and Dep Fox in any way we can. We also want to show our support for all of our Law Enforcement Officers in our county. I'm sure some or most of you have seen the hats our team wore in Friday's game to honor our fallen officers. We have more being made and will be selling them for $20 each and taking up any donations at both home games this week and donating every dollar we take in to the families of Sgt Ward and Dep. Fox.

We will also be starting a new tradition of having a Law Enforcement night each year to show support for all our Officers. The first one will be at our first home game, Tomorrow Tuesday May 4th. Our very own SRO Seth Morrison will be throwing out the first pitch before the Varsity game at 6:30. Watauga Baseball would like to extend an open invitation to and Law Enforcement Officer to come stand with us on the First base line as Officer Morrison throws out the first pitch, and also for the National Anthem.

Nothing we could ever do can fill the void left by our heros that have gone on. The only thing we can do is try to honor them the best way possible and support their families, friends and fellow officers. This is what we will do this evening.

Please forward this to any and all Law Enforcement Officers that you know and share this email with as many people as possible. Let's make this a great night and continue to show the world what our community is all about.

Thank you, Sincerely,  WHS baseball coach Ethan Greene
