CBSSports.com is reporting that the University of Missouri has named Appalachian State University football coach Elijah Drinkwitz its new football coach.

Drinkwitz, in his only season with the Mountaineers, led them to a 12-1 record and its fourth straight Sun Belt Conference championship. Missouri fired fourth-year head coach Barry Odom, who went 25-25 overall and 13-19 in the Southeastern Conference. The Tigers were 6-6 (3-5 SEC) this fall.

Drinkwitz came to App State from North Carolina State, where he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He replace Scott Satterfield, who left for the University of Louisville.

App State is set to play Alabama-Birmingham in the R&L Carrier Bowl in New Orleans on December 21 at 9 p.m. (air time at 7 p.m. on WATA Radio 1450 AM/96.5 FM).
