The Hickory Crawdads erupted for a season-high 12 runs and 13 hits in a 12-7 win against the Augusta Greenjackets at L.P. Frans Stadium Monday night.

The 12-run outburst nearly equaled the Crawdads total from their last four games combined (13 runs during that stretch). It also marked the first time the 'Dads have scored double digit runs in consecutive games since April 25-26 (against Greensboro).

The Crawdads (16-20) scored four runs in the first inning, and four more runs in the third to break the game open. All nine starters produced at least one hit. Evan Van Hooiser led the way going 3-5 with a triple, three runs scored and an RBI. Travis Demeritte chipped in going 2-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI; Eduard Pinto was 1-3 with a double and three RBI.

The 'Dads jumped on Augusta starter Chase Johnson for four runs, one earned, on four hits in the first inning. Nomar Mazara gave Hickory a 1-0 lead with an RBI single to right field; Pinto had a three-run double to left field.

Augusta (16-21) rebounded and cut Hickory's lead to one at 5-4, but the 'Dads broke the game open with a four-run explosion in the third. Demeritte belted a two-run homer and Van Hoosier had an RBI single that gave the 'Dads a 9-4 lead.

Akeem Bostick (1-2) picked up his first win of the year; Johnson (1-4) took the loss. Ryder Jones of the 'Jackets was 5-1 with an RBI and a pair of strikeouts in the loss. The Crawdads go for the series win this morning at 11 a.m. The 'Dads begin a seven-game road trip in Charleston, S.C., Wednesday night.
