Carrboro High School football coach Jason Tudryn is leaving his position to take a position with the football team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Tudryn will serve as the director of high school relations for the Tar Heels' football team, he confirmed Tuesday afternoon. Carrboro opened its doors in 2007 and Tudryn has been there since it opened.

In his seven seasons at Carrboro, Tudryn's teams compiled an overall record of 43-44. Each of the program's first two years, the Jaguars posted 1-10 records, but by 2009 Carrboro put together a 4-8 campaign.

The program kept progressing. In 2010, Carrboro had its first winning season with a 10-4 overall record. After a brief setback in 2011 with an 8-4 mark, the Jags posted a school-best 15-1 record in 2012. The Jaguars played for the 2-AA state championship that season, but fell to South Iredell, 30-27.

Last year, Carrboro was 4-7 overall in the new Mid-State 2-A Conference. Tudryn started his new position at UNC on Monday.
