Lenoir-Rhyne University's Jazmine Charles has been selected to the 2013-14 NCCSIA College Division All-State Women's Basketball First Team. NCCSIA is

the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association.


Charles, a junior guard from Lexington, N.C., led the Bears in several categories this year including scoring (17.4 ppg), rebounding (6.6 rpg) and three-pointers made (55).


In addition, Charles was named the 2013-14 South Atlantic Conference and Southeast Region Player Of The Year and earned All-American honors by both Daktronics and the Division II Bulletin.


Charles led Lenoir-Rhyne to 24-7 record including a 17-5 mark in conference play this season. In addition, the Bears finished with a No. 24 national ranking and won their fourth South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship in school history.


The Bears also hosted the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Tournament this year and was the top seed.


Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by the NCCSIA members.


Founded in 2002, The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina.



The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.


NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball and baseball.
