Appalachian State University has finalized the dates for its annual Hall of Fame, Family Weekend, Homecoming and Black Saturday football games in 2014. Appalachian State’s 2014 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, in conjunction with the Mountaineers’ home opener versus Campbell.

Family Weekend is set for Oct. 3-5, highlighted by Appalachian’s first-ever Sun Belt Conference home game versus South Alabama on Saturday, Oct. 4. Homecoming is slated for one week later when the Mountaineers take on Liberty on Saturday, Oct. 11. Liberty will be Appalachian’s homecoming opponent for the second time. The Mountaineers edged the Flames, 41-40, in a homecoming thriller at Kidd Brewer Stadium on Nov. 5, 1994.

Black Saturday is set for Saturday, Nov. 8 when 2012 Independence Bowl participant Louisiana-Monroe makes its first visit to The Rock. ULM is the first team besides Furman or Georgia Southern to serve as App State’s Black Saturday foe since 2001, when all six of Appalachian’s home games were dubbed Black Saturday. Other traditional specialty dates (Education Day, etc.) will be set at a later time.

Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at or by phone at (828) 262-2079. Half-season ticket packages will be available in the near future and single-game tickets go on sale on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
