The Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team played Brevard College tight in its season opener, but BC scored five third period goals on its way to handing LMC an 11-4 loss at Brevard Lacrosse Field Sunday afternoon in Brevard, N.C.

The Tornados (1-1) used a four-goal outburst from Al Blackman and an 11-6 faceoff advantage to claim the victory. The Bobcats (0-1) saw a pair of player's net two goals while only committing one turnover.

Bobcat senior Kyle Judge (Hampstead, Md.) put LMC out in front, 1-0, with a goal at the 12:01 mark of the first period.

LMC sophomore Schuylor Dickerson (Crozet, Va.) and Blackman each notched two goals to make tie it at 3 halfway through the second period.

Judge struck again in the third with 12:15 remaining while LMC trailed 5-4.

BC's Blair Alexandersen scored with one second remaining in the third period while the Tornados finished the match on a 6-0 run.

Judge and Dickerson netted a pair of goals and an assist each while Dominick Hamilton (Beech Mountain, N.C.) won six faceoffs. Freshman Mike Gregory (Greensboro, N.C.) stonewalled 11 shots.

Blackman paced the Tornados in goals while Alexandersen recorded a hat trick. Andrew Reilly accumulated 12 saves on the day.

LMC returns to action when it visits Lenoir-Rhyne Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Hickory, N.C.
