Mallory Clay, who was a thorn in the side against the Watauga High girl's basketball team during her prep days at Ashe County, has really come into her own this season at Catawba College, a Division II school and a member of the South Atlantic Conference in Salisbury, N.C.

Clay currently leads the Indians in free-throw shooting (89%), and she is second on the team in scoring (10 points-per-game) and three-point shooting (38%). Clay has started 16 games for the Indians (8-8) this season, after only one start in 27 games last season, and she's averaging a little less than 29 minutes a game.

Clay has led the Indians in scoring in five games so far this season, including the last three games. She scored 18 points in the win against Anderson, 14 in a loss against Newberry and 17 in the loss to Brevard.
