Lees-McRae seniors Evan Webb and Kortnie Curry finished in the top-15 of their respective events pacing the Bobcats at the Hilton Garden Invitational at JDL Fast Track on the campus of Wake Forest in

Winston-Salem, N.C.



Webb (Salisbury, N.C.) finished ninth in the men’s pole vault with a height of 4.60 meters. Webb cleared the bar on his second attempt. Curry (Lexington, N.C.) tied for 15th in the women’s high jump with a jump of 1.60 meters. She accomplished the feat on her final try.


Bobcat teammate Persephanie McRae (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished tied for 28th in the event at 1.50 meters.


The men’s 4x400 relay squad that consisted of Davante Scott (Hopkins, S.C.), Charles Coleman (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Razhede Highsmith (Gastonia, N.C.) and Cody McNeely (Salisbury, N.C.) enjoyed a top-30 finish while claiming 26th with a time of 3:38.85.


Freshman Erin Bingham (Jefferson, N.C.) impressed in her spring debut with a time of 9.62 seconds in the women’s 60-meter dash and a 28.29 performance in the 200-meter race.


Moyock, N.C. natives, Kayla Powell and Rachelle Cleveland finished 24th and 26th in the shot put with heaves of 11.12 and 11.10 meters, respectively.


LMC will make the short trip to Boone next weekend to participate in the Mountaineer Open starting Friday.
