The Watauga High freshman boy's basketball team lost to Alexander Central 60-31 Thursday night in Taylorsville, N.C.

 

 

 

Antonio Romero led the Pioneers (1-7) with seven points in the loss. Justin Hollars, Trevor Groglisky, Kevin Kapral, Dylan Coffey, and Mario Mendez each had three points apiece; Thomas Alvarado, Bryce Wallace, Lance Presnell, and Byers Carney each had two points apiece.

 

The Pioneers wrap up the season at home against Cloudland (TN) on Saturday at Lentz-Eggers Gym at 2 p.m.

 

 

Ashe County Wrestling PPD

 

Ashe County Athletic Director Marc Payne has annouced that the Huskies wrestling match with Starmount that was postponed twice this week due to inclement weather will not be rescheduled.

 

The Mountain Valley Athletic 1A/2A Conference Wrestling Tournament will be held as scheduled on Saturday, February 1 @ Wilkes Central beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m.
