Lenoir-Rhyne University's Michael Green has been named to the 2013 D2Football.com All-American First Team while Blake Baker and Joe Ray garnered honorable mention accolades.

Green, a senior defensive back from Kingsland, Ga., has been named to his fifth All-American Team this year: Don Hansen, Associated Press Little, Daktronics and Beyond Sports Network (BSN) were the others.

Green, a three-time all-league and all-region selection (2011-13), led the South Atlantic Conference in interceptions (eight) this year and returned three of those picks for scores. Green also tallied 88 tackles and was named the 2013 SAC Defensive Player Of The Year.

Green leaves Lenoir-Rhyne as the school's all-time leader in interception return yards (429) and punt return yards (901).

Baker, a junior defensive lineman from Bethlehem, N.C., led the league with a school-record 14.5 quarterback sacks to go along with 56 tackles (22 coming for a loss). Baker was a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award this year, given annually to the top defensive lineman in NCAA Division II, and earned All-American honors by Daktronics and Don Hansen.

Ray, a sophomore from Atlanta, Ga., was named the 2013 Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner, given annually to the top offensive lineman in the South Atlantic Conference.

Ray, a 2013 D-II All-American by Daktronics and BSN, helped the Bears rank first in the nation in rushing (370.9 ypg) this season and break the all-time NCAA record for rushing yards in a single season with 5,563 this fall.

All three players led Lenoir-Rhyne to the NCAA Division II National Championship game this year where the Bears fell to Northwest Missouri State. L-R (13-2) also set a school single-season record for wins, earned its third consecutive South Atlantic Conference Championship and finished the year ranked second in the nation. L-R named Ian Shields its 20th Head Football Coach in school history on January 14 as well.

The D2Football.com All-America Team was selected by the staff of D2Football.com with input from coaches, scouts, media members, and sports information directors from around the country. D2Football.com has named an All-America Team since its inception in 2000.
