You win some, and you lose some. The Appalachian State University football team got its taste of it last week, when wide receiver Rashad Canty from Riverdale, Ga., a three-star recruit. decommited and

announced he was going to Vanderbilt instead.

 

 

Well, the table turned in App State's favor on Tuesday when it landed a good recruit in three-star wide receiver Shaedon Meadors from Duncan, S.C. Meadors, 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds from Brynes High School, chose the Mountaineers over Old Dominion.

 

Meadors revealed his commitment on Twitter Tuesday afternoon. Meadors caught 85 passes for 1,866 yards and 33 touchdowns last season. Meadors was teammates with quarterback Shuler Bentley at Brynes.

 

Bentley, who has verbally commited to ODU and will make an official visit this weekend, was the 2012 and 2013 South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year.

 

Meadors had offers from Wake Forest, App State, Marshall, Temple, Tulane, Toledo and Charlotte. He narrowed his choices to App and ODU.

 

National Signing Day will be Wednesday, February 5.
