Logan Raichle and Cam Linnville of the Watauga High boy's soccer team were named to the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association Class 4A All-State Team on Monday. It's the first time the Pioneers have had two players or more named to the all-state team since 1999,
when Josh Honeycutt, Patrick Murphy and Andy Cooke were named all-state.
Raichle, who was an All-Northwestern 3A/4A selection, was also the Offensive Player of the Year in the NW3A/4A. He tallied 17 goals with 18 assists in 2013. Linnville, who was also an all-conference performer, was the NW3A/4A Defensive Player of the Year. Linnville had four goals and 14 assists this season.
Linnville and Raichle are also two-time Class 4A All-Region 11 performers. They were joined on that team by goalkeeper Jake Chasteen, who will attend Appalachian State University to play soccer next fall. Chasteen was named all-state last year, WHS' first all-state player since 2008 (Ben Robertson).
