After a week’s investigation, and thanks to a Crimestoppers tip, Boone Public Works Director Blake Brown was charged Friday with a misdemeanor in connection with use of a blue light to pull a woman over.  The incident occurred Thursday a week ago on Deerfield Road, a woman telling authorities that she was stopped by a man in a pickup with a blue light on the dash.   Sheriff Len Hagaman said officers were assisted by a tip received through High Country Crimestoppers. The sheriff’s release said that James Blake Brown, 58, of 1005 Evergreen Drive, Boone, was charged with unlawful possession or activation of a blue light, according to Hagaman. He was set a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 19. The November 7th incident was followed by one the next night on the ASU campus, but Brown is not a suspect in that, according to Sheriff Hagaman. Authorities are still seeking a suspect in that incident.
