|Bears Down Queens, Win SAC Title|

The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (13-3-1, 9-1-1) won the 2013 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship after defeating Queens (10-5-3, 5-4-2), 3-1, Saturday afternoon on the road.
Three different players scored for the Bears, who are ranked No. 23 in NCAA Division II, first in the Southeast Region and won their fourth consecutive league regular season title.
L-R junior defender Hanna Kiebel (Parker, Colo.) opened the scoring in the ninth minute after finishing off a shot in the top left corner of the box. L-R sophomore midfielder Garcelle Alequine (Wilmington, Del.), the team's leading scorer, was credited with the assist.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore midfielder Kendall Smith (Asheville, N.C.) gave the Bears a 2-0 advantage in the 36nd minute of action before freshman midfielder Erin Dudley (Grasonville, Md.) put the contest away with her first goal of the season at the 62:10 mark.
Queens finally got on the board with just under two minutes left on Kelli Gottry's (Wilmington, N.C.) team-leading ninth goal of the season as the Royals avoided the shutout.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior goalkeeper Genny Little (Fredericksburg, Va.) improved to 12-1 on the season after stopping three shots and earning the win. Jessyca Young (Wake Forest, N.C.) suffered the loss in goal for the Royals.
L-R, winners of the three straight, will be the top seed in the 2013 Food Lion SAC Women's Soccer Tournament and will host eighth-seeded Carson-Newman on Tuesday in the quarterfinal round. Queens will be the sixth seed and travel to third-seeded Tusculum on Tuesday in the first round of the conference tournament as well.
