Lenoir-Rhyne's Emmi Dunn has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player Of The Week, league officials announced today. A Lenoir-Rhyne player has now won the award for the
third straight week.
Dunn, a sophomore midfielder from Reading, Pa., finished with four goals last week in leading Lenoir-Rhyne to a pair of league victories over Mars Hill (6-0) and Anderson (2-0) at home on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
Dunn tallied a hat trick with three goals on penalty kicks in the first half against the Lions before scoring the game-winner versus the Trojans. Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore midfielder Garcelle Alequine (Wilmington, Del.) earned the honor the prior two weeks.
L-R (8-2-1, 5-0-1) is currently riding a six-match winning streak and is 25-0-1 in its past 26 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season contests dating back to the 2010 campaign.
Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Pembroke, N.C., to take on UNC Pembroke Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., before hosting Tusculum in a league match on Saturday at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex beginning at 5:00 p.m.
