No more scoring would take place in the remaining 71 minutes of regulation. Davidson would outshoot Appalachian 14-10 with the Mountaineers holding the advantage with shots on goal by a tally of 7-5. The Mountaineers would produce four corner kicks and made one of them count in overtime.

In the first overtime, Nieradka took a corner kick and sent the ball into the box where Childress would turn her head into a lethal weapon and send the Mountaineers back home to Boone on a high note. The goal for Childress was her sixth of the season, which out performs her freshman season in 2012 when she scored five goals.
