Wolverines Lose Third Straight PDF Print

It's been a tough year, at least so far, for the Watuaga Middle School football team. The Wolverines (1-3) suffered their third consecutive loss Wednesday afternoon at

Jack Groce Stadium. Hudson rallied from an early 8-0 deficit and defeated Watauga, 24-8.
"They scored just as the first half ended," said Watauga coach Dale Allred. "That gave them some momentum, and they just overpowered us in the second half. It's been tough. I really thought we held our own with those guys in the first half. But like we've done all year, we just seem to run out of gas."
Joey Watson scored the only Watuaga touchdown on a one-yard run in the opening stanza. Watson hooked up with Isaiah Finger on a two-point conversion pass.
The Wolverines take on Granite Falls at Jack Groce Stadium next Wednesday, September 25 at 4:30 p.m.
