It's going to take more than just a nagging injury to keep Appalachian State University quarterback Jamal Londry-Jackson on the shelf. The ASU senior announced late Sunday night that he expects to play in the Mountaineers' home opener Saturday against North Carolina A&T. Jackson left Saturday's game against Montana in the second quarter when he suffered a pinched nerve in his neck that caused his left arm to go limp for a short period of time.
But Jackson returned in the fourth quarter to finish out the game. He was 13-21 for 89 yards in a 30-6 loss against No.20 Montana.
The loss dropped ASU from 12th to 21st in The Sports Network Poll. Montana moves up to 13th; Georgia Southern is 10th, Wofford is 16th. North Dakota State, which defeated defending Big 12 champion Kansas State 24-21 Saturday, is No.1. The Bison received 145 first-place votes. Eastern Washington, which upset No.25 Oregon State 49-46 Saturday, moved up two spots in the TSN poll. The Eagles are No.2 this week and received seven first-place votes.
