Panthers Win Pre-Season Opener PDF Print

The Carolina Panthers won their pre-season opener Saturday night by knocking off the New York Giants 20-10 at Bank Of America Stadium in Charlotte.

Jimmy Clausen hooked up with Greg Olsen on an 18-yard scoring toss in the first quarter and Derek Anderson threw a 35-yard scoring strike to Kealoha Pilares in the final stanza to put the game out of reach. Olindo Mare had field goals of 26- and 39-yards.
Armanti Edwards caught one pass for 36 yards, and he returned three punts for a 17-yard average, which included a 24-yard return.
The Panthers (1-0) travel to Miami Friday night, August 19. Our coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on MIX 102.3 FM.
