The 1st-Half Northern Division Champion Hickory Crawdads fell to the Kannapolis Intimidators, 3-0, before 1,881 at L.P. Frans Stadium on Thursday night

Kannapolis (64-49, 27-18) took the lead with one big swing by Dan Black to start the top of the second inning against losing pitcher Ben Henry (4-2).  Black jumped on a first-pitch fast ball for a solo home run that gave Kannapolis a 1-0 lead.
Despite that blemish, Henry went six strong innings. He gave up just one run and struck out a season-high 10 batters.  But he was matched by Jon Bachanov (1-1) of the Intimidators, who logged five scoreless innings of his own before three Justin Collop and Wes Whisler closed things out against the Crawdads (66-48, 26-20).
Kannapolis added insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings against Jimmy Reyes. Collin Kuhn made it a 2-0 with an RBI double in the seventh; Trayce Thompson made it 3-0 with an RBI single in the eight.
