The Hickory Crawdads, 1st-Half Northern Division Champions, fell to the Asheville Tourists, 5-0, before 2,233 fans at Historic McCormick Field in Asheville on Saturday evening.

After both starters --losing pitcher Nick Tepesch (6-4) for Hickory and winning pitcher Nick Schnaitmann (2-1) for Asheville -- alternated scoreless innings through the first two and a half frames, the Tourists (55-56, 24-18) got on the board with a two-out rally in the bottom of the third.  Cristhian Adames singled and stole second before Rafael Ortega knocked him in with an RBI single.  Ortega swiped second, and then cruised home on an RBI double by Brett Tanos for a 2-0 lead.
The Tourists added two more with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.  Kyle Parker led off the fourth with a solo home run; Tanos drove Ortega, who had doubled in the fifth with a double of his own giving the Tourists a 4-0 lead.
Tepesch kept Asheville from adding to the lead throughout the remainder of his seven-inning start, wrapping up with seven strikeouts and no walks allowed. Asheville added its final tally on a sacrifice fly by Parker in the bottom of the eighth.
