The Augusta GreenJackets topped the 1st-Half Northern Division Champion Hickory Crawdads, 5-0, before 2,759 fans at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Friday night.

The GreenJackets (49-54, 18-15) took the early lead on Jeff Arnold's two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning.  Winning pitcher Shawn Sanford (8-6) turned in a marvelous performance as he scattered three hits through eight innings.
Augusta added to its lead with three unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.  With runners at the corners and two outs, Rafael Rodriguez pulled an RBI double inside the left-field line, scoring Josh Mazzola from third.  Arnold then struck again, driving in both runners with a two-run single up the middle that gave the GreenJackets a 5-0 lead.
The Crawdads (61-41; 21-13) got their first two batters on to start the top of the ninth, but Drew Bowlin retired the next three in order to close the win for Augusta.
