Appalachian State quarterback DeAndre Presley is ranked among the top ten quarterbacks in the nation at the Football Championship Sub-Division level by The Sports Network.

Presley, a senior, who finished third in the Walter Payton Award voting last season, is ranked seventh in that top ten poll. He turned in a stellar campaign replacing the legendary Armanti Edwards, who is now a member of the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League. Presley accounted for 34 touchdowns last fall.
He passed for 2,631 passing yards with 21 touchdown tosses; he ran for 1,039 yards and scored 13 touchdowns as the Moutaineers finished the season with a 10-3 record and reached the second-round of the FCS playoffs before they were eliminated by Villanova.
Presley also completed 61% (210-343) of his passes, and he was only picked off seven times. One of his best efforts of the year came against Western Illinois in the opening round of the FCS playoffs at snowy Kidd Brewer Stadium as he ran for a season-high 264 yards.
The Mountaineers kick-off the 2011 season at Virginia Tech on Saturday, September 3.
