The Southern Conference has unveiled its field for the conference tournament, which begins on Friday in Chattanooga.

The Mountaineers (15-14), the No.3 seed from the North Division, takes on Georgia Southern (5-26), the No.6 seed from the South Division. Georgia Southern was 1-17 in conference play. The Eagles lost 15 in a row before they snapped that long losing streak against The Citadel on February 19 Their last win before that came on December 22 against Georgia State.
The winner of ASU-Georgia Southern will play Wofford College in the quarterfinals Saturday at 4:30 pm. Wofford nailed down the No.2 seed in the South by knocking off Furman 79-65 Saturday afternoon in Greenville, SC. The Terriers had four players in double figures and had a 35-23 edge on the boards in their win. The Terriers were led by Cameron Rundles with 17 points.
Western Carolina won the North Division title by knocking off College of Charleston in Cullowee, 70-62. Western Carolina led 36-24 at halftime and by as many as 16 points in the second half. Mike Williams led the Catamounts with 18 points on Senior Night followed by 16 each from Harouna Mutombo, nephew of Dikembe Mutombo, and Richie Gordon.
Chattanooga won its season finale by knocking off Samford 77-72 in Birmingham, AL. Both the Mocs and the Catamounts finished in a first-place tie in the North with identical 12-6 league records, but WCU wins the tie-breaker because of its season sweep of ASU.
And despite finishing the regular-season on a two-game losing streak, CofC is still the No.1 overall seed in the SoCon tournament. The tournament begins Friday afternoon at the McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga. CofC, Wofford College, WCU and Chattanooga all receive first-round byes and won't play until Friday. The Mounatineers, looking for their first SoCon championship since 2000, must win four games in four days----something that's never been done before.

AM 1450, WATA will carry the entire tournament. Our coverage begins at 1:15 pm Friday afternoon. Davidson and UNC-Greensboro will play the opening game Friday afternoon at 2 pm.
