The Sports Network has announced that Appalachian State has four Mountaineers up for two national awards, and ten possible All-American candidates.

Quarterback DeAndre Presley, the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year, is a candidate for the Walter Payton Award, which goes to the best offensive player in the country at the FCS level. Defensive lineman Jabari Fletcher, linebacker D.J. Smith and defensive back Mark LeGree are candidates for the Buck Buchanan Award, which goes to the best defensive player in the country at the FCS level. LeGree is a two-time All-American and has been a candidate for the Buchanan Award the last two years.
Offensive linemen Brett Irvin, Pat Mills and Daniel Kilgore, tight end Ben Jordan, wide receiver Brian Quick and kicker Jason Vitaris are also in the running as possible All-American candidates. The Mountaineers, the No.1 seed in the FCS playoffs, have a bye this week. They will play either Coastal Carolina or Western Illinois in a second-round game at home next Saturday, December 4 at 12 noon.
Our coverage begins at 10 am on AM 1450, WATA.
