Phyllis Pitman, age 82, of Orlando, FL and a native of Spruce Pine, died Friday, August 21, 2020.

Born on September 16, 1939 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Edna Puckett Singleton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pitman who passed away in 2000. Also preceding her in death were her daughters; Debbie Pitman and Rhonda Pitman and her sister, Margaret Burleson.

Phyllis was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church. She truly loved the Lord, her church family, singing in the choir, and reading her Bible. She was known as a quiet and soft spoken person that loved everyone. She also loved her flowers and hummingbirds.

Left to cherish her memories are her son; Rev. Charles Pitman and wife, Pam of New Bern, NC; her daughters; Elizabeth Habetler of Valdese and Nancy McHone and husband, Doug of Orlando, FL; her sister; Rachel Freeman of Morganton; her brother; Dennis Singleton of Rossville, GA; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
