Dema Sue Williams, age 73, of Spruce Pine died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Spruce Pine.

Born on August 1, 1946 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Dick and Ester Carpenter Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; Jack Gough and Guy Williams. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Dickie, Buddy, and Hoyt Williams; her sister; Norma Willis; and her granddaughter; Bethany Buchanan.

Dema Sue was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. She retired from Henredon Furniture after twenty-five years of service. Prior to her employment at Henredon, she worked at Spruce Pine Community Hospital as a C.N.A. She loved animals and in her spare time she spent many hours with them. She also enjoyed reading and her flowers, particularly Lilies.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Selena Buchanan and husband, Mark of Spruce Pine; her son; Chris Williams of Spruce Pine; her grandchildren; Blaze, Zack, Tristen, and Kellie Buchanan and Riley, Damien, and Jacob Williams; her great grandchildren; Nolan, Lakan, Daxtyn, Matthew, Malikye, Aubree, and Myles; and several nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Dema Sue Williams on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be Friday, June 26, 2020 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at the church. Interment will be in the Berry Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff of Brian Center Health & Rehab for the wonderful care given to Dema Sue.
