June Evans Vestal, age 78, of 1660 Macedonia Church Road, Sparta, NC passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Alleghany Health in Sparta, NC.

She was born May 4, 1942 in Grayson County, Virginia to the late Curtis Emory and Callie Mae Coleman Evans. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Evans, Billy Jo Evans, and Dwight Evans; two sisters, Betty Walker and Minnie Brooks. June was a member of Mountain Top Baptist Church. She enjoyed mowing the yard, painting and cooking. She always put her church first. She is survived by her husband, William “Will” Vestal of the home; two daughters, Lisa Rash and husband Brian of Glade Valley, Rebecca Langhoff and husband Brian of Julian; two sons, Jeffery Wyatt and wife Denise of Sparta, Greg Wyatt and wife Darlene of Ennice; three step-sons, Dean Vestal of Jonesville, James Vestal and wife Annie of Jonesville, Joseph Vestal and wife Melissa of Elkin; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jack Evans and wife Maxine of Glade Valley, Jim Evans and wife Faye of Glade Valley, Gene Evans and wife Janice of Glade Valley, Ralph Evans and wife Ramona of Kodiak, TN; two sisters, Emma Surgeon of Lincolnton, Margaret Cochran and husband Calvin of Dobson; father of her children, Sharrel Wyatt and wife Judy of Sparta; special friend, Irene Billings of Sparta; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence to honor the life of June at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 21, 2020 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Granville Branch and Brother Ricky Cothren officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Glen Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home, and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Top Baptist Church, 529 Shawtown Road, Glade Valley, NC 28627. The family would like to extend special thanks to granddaughters, Alicia Hedrick and Jessi Wyatt, and step-son James Vestal. Also with much gratitude to her devoted husband for taking care of his wife and being a good friend and loving husband.
