Ronald Bruce Brown, age 80, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born March 18, 1940 in Wilkes County to Charlie Burguess and Edna Sue Fender Brown. Mr. Brown was a member of Bethel Baptist Church; a member of 24 years with North Wilkesboro Fire Department; and with Wilkes Rescue Squad for 21 years. He was formerly employed for 24 years as leadman with LP/Abitibi. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Howard Brown and spouse Emma, Charlie Brown, Jr. and spouse Sylvia, Lorene Brown Simpson and spouse Walter, Harold Brown and spouse Peggy; brother-in-law, Grayson Eller; and sister, Pauline Spears.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Foster-Brown; son, Marcus Ronald Brown of North Wilkesboro; grandson, Cody W. Brown of State Road; granddaughters, Carrie A. Brown and Catie B. Brown both of State Road; sisters, Velma Eller of Hagerstown, Maryland, Sue Harrold and spouse James of Hays; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2020 at Mountlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 222 South Church Street, Suite 336M, Charlotte, NC 28202 or to the Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree Street, NE, Suite 600, 6th Floor, Atlanta, Georgia 30309.
