Eddie Dean Baker, age 62 of Glendale Springs, died on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem.

Mr. Baker was born on July 23, 1957 in Ashe County to Charles Clifford Baker and Ruby Jane Turnmire Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Billy Joe Baker and Donley Baker; a sister, Magdalene Powers; and his companion, Cynthia “Sandy” Ham.

Mr. Baker enjoyed going to yard sales and antiquing, buying, selling, and trading things. He liked spending time with his dog “Bandit” and three cats and watching NASCAR. He was always friendly and enjoyed talking to people.

Mr. Baker is survived by: five sisters, Carol Russell of West Jefferson, Betty Holt of West Jefferson, Sandy Greer of Fleetwood, Susie Baker of West Jefferson, and Brenda Lovelace of Ennice; special friends, Kevin and Linda; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by Elder Carl Hart. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

The family is meeting at the home of his sister, Susie Baker, at 2805 Frank Dillard Road in West Jefferson.
