Mrs. Clara Jean (Adams) Wagoner, age 87, of McGrady NC, peacefully passed from this life on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at her daughter's home in
Wilkesboro.

Mrs. Wagoner was born on October 31, 1932 in Wilkes County to James Presley (JP) and Dora E. Sebastian Adams. She was a homemaker, worked many years as a cafeteria cook & cashier for the Baltimore County Board of Education in Maryland. Her love of God and her family were the most important parts of her life, obvious in her devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her passion was music, playing both the piano and organ. She served as the church pianist and organist at several local churches and most recently at Grace Point Baptist of Baltimore, MD and alternate pianist at Dehart Baptist Church in McGrady NC.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Dehart Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Hall and Rev. Travis Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Service, 180 Sparta Road, North Wilkesboro NC.
Mrs. Wagoner is survived by her husband of 67 years, Mr. Freeman H. Wagoner, Sr. of McGrady, NC; one son, Mr. Freeman Wagoner, Jr. of Middle River, MD; and three daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Stark and husband, Robert, of Wilkesboro; Mrs. Rita Wagoner-West and husband Barry, of Hickory; and Ms. Frances Wagoner of
Vandalia, OH; one brother, Mr. James A. (Arvil) Adams and wife, Gloria of
Acworth, GA; one sister, Mrs. Lucy Griggs of Salisbury, NC; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde E.
Adams and William (Beechel) Adams; and her sisters, Mrs. Rena Coffey, Mrs. Reba Dillard, Mrs. Grace Hall.
