Watauga Sheriffs Shift Reports For Day Shift 04/06/22

The Watauga County Board Of Elections will hold a meeting on Tuesday April 12th at 5PM in courtroom number 3 of the courthouse on West King St in Boone. The Meeting is open to the public.

State Veterinarian Mike Martin announced today that all North Carolina poultry shows, and public sales will be suspended due to the threat of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

 
The Boone Town Council will hold a meeting  on April 13th at 9:00 am.

A recent documentary film compares 1970s images filmed in Watauga County to those same scenes today. In collaboration with the Watauga County Public Library, the film will be featured as part of celebrating Boone’s 150th anniversary.

A Boone businessman pleaded guilty Wednesday in Wake County Superior Court to felony tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

 After a national search, Dr. Sandra Vannoy has been named dean of Appalachian State University’s Walker College of Business. Her role became effective April 1. 

Two High Country communities have been added to the national register of historic places.

The Town of Boone Public Utilities Department wants to notify the citizens of Boone of necessary maintenance work needed on the water pump located on Dogwood Road.

 

A number of community organizations are coming together this week to present a community Easter EGG-stravaganza, with events taking place this Thursday and Saturday, April 7 and 9.
