The Haunted Factory- Every Friday and Saturday in October, including Halloween night

The Haunted Factory in West Jefferson features live actors around every corner, for the ultimate haunted tour experience. Open every Friday and Saturday in October, and open on Halloween night (Thurs, Oct. 31st). Admission is $10 per person. Doors open each night at 7pm and close at 11pm or until no one is left in line. Trick or Treat- Thursday, October 31st

Trick or Treat through Downtown West Jefferson from 3-5pm. Downtown stores will be passing out candy along the street.

Trunk or Treat- Thursday, October 31st

From 5:30pm until candy runs out, First Baptist Church of West Jefferson (8 West Second St) will have a Trunk or Treat.

Trunk or Treat Lansing- Thursday, October 31st

From 5:30-8:30pm, there will be a Trunk or Treat in the Lansing Creeper Trail Park barn. There will be games, food, a costume contest, and more.


Family Halloween and Trick or Treat- October 25th

Geared toward kids 12 and under, Buckeye Recreation Center in Beech Mountain will have Trick or Treating around the track of the recreation center. Trick or Treating is at 6:00, with a party inside until 8pm. Buckeye Recreation Center is located at 1330 Pine Ridge Road. Call 828-387-3003 for more information.

Grandfather Mountain’s Beary Scary Halloween- October 26th

Grandfather Mountain once again hosts it's annual Beary Scary Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 26th. This event features trick-or-treating, spooky arts and crafts, making enrichments, or special treats for animals and a costume contest. The activities start at 11 a.m. and run to 3:30 p.m. and are included with the price of admission. Plus, kids in costume receive half-priced admission. For more information, call 828-733-2013.


Haunted Horn- Every Friday and Saturday in October

Visit the immersive trail experience of the Haunted Horn every Friday and Saturday in October. The Haunted Horn is open from 8-11 PM at the Daniel Boone Amphitheater (591 Horn in the West Drive, Boone). Tickets are $10 online and $13 at the door. Visit HauntedHorn.com to buy tickets online. 

The 5th Annual Masquerade Ball- Friday, October 25th

The Hunger and Health Coalition once again hosts their annual Masquerade Ball. From 6:30pm- 10:30pm, enjoy entertainment from the Appalachian Theatre Ensemble at Harvest House Performing Arts Venue (247 Boone Heights Drive, Boone). Tickets are $30. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served, and there will be a costume contest with the following categories: Most Creative / Funniest / Most Unique / Scariest / Best Overall. Appalachian Theatre Screening of Hocus Pocus- October 25th & 26th

The newly reopened Appalachian Theatre (559 W King St, Boone) will be showing the Halloween classic, Hocus Pocus at 7pm on October 25 & 26th. Doors open at 6:30, and it is $10 for adults and $6 for children. Hocus Pocus is rated PG-13. Box Office Hours: 11am-3pm M-F & 1-hour prior to showtime. Tweetsie Railroad’s Ghost Train- October 25 & 26th

The final weekend of Tweetsie's Ghost Train is October 25th & 26th at Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock. It is encouranged to buy tickets in advance, and tickets are for a specific date and train ride time. Ticket prices: Adults: $44, Children (age 3-12): $38, Children 2 and under: Free. Halloween at the Market- Tuesday, October 28th

The King Street Market invites all to the final market of the year - Halloween At The Market Tuesday October 28th from 4 to 6 pm. The event will feature costume competitions for all ages, a photo booth, games, face painting, live music, and more. Tanger Outlets’ Halloween Spooktacular- Thursday, October 31st

From 5pm to 7pm, kids 12 and under can Trick or Treat on the "Tanger Streets" while supplies last, and participate in a spooky/fun scavenger hunt. Trail of Treats- Saturday, October 26th
The Annual Trail of Treats will be from 3-7pm on Saturday, October 26th. Trick-or-treat on the Yadkin River Greenway in North Wilkesboro, with the Turtle Regatta beginning at 5pm.

Truck or Treat- Monday, October 28th
The Annual Truck or Treat at the Marketplace from 5pm-8pm on Monday, October 28th. In Downtown North Wilkesboro, there will be food, a dj, street performers, children's activities. There will be a costume contest for kids under 10, adults and pets. Little Mountain Railroad Co. will be there too. Participating Downtown shops will also greet and treat between 3pm-5pm.

Happy Halloween Spooktacular- Thursday, October 31st

Hillside Horror in Roaring River is having a family-friendly Halloween event, without the normal scare factors. Admission is $5 per person, and children can explore the creepy corn maze, featuring lighting and special effects. There will be no pop scares, chainsaws, or actors jumping out to scare attendees.
