The 22nd Blood Sweat and Gears Bicycle event is this Saturday, starting at 730 in Valle Crucis.

Online registration will remain open through Saturday morning, June 25th. The registration fee will increase to $130 beginning on Friday.

Starting and finishing in historic Valle Crucis, BSG participants pedal through Watauga and Ashe counties, and there are two routes. A very challenging 95-mile route and a 45-mile route that is shorter but still a big challenge.

Both routes include epic area climbs but the signature climb of BSG, Snake Mountain, awaits only the strongest riders that accept the challenge of the 95-mile route.

Proceeds are redistributed to support non-profit organizations of the High-Country community.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, especially in Valle Crucis, as bikes will be more noticeable on some local roads leading up to the event.
