The Ashe County Board of Commissioners decided Monday that a public hearing for a new middle school will be held on August 2 at the Venue of the Ashe County Chamber of Commerce.
The Ashe Post and Times reports County Manager Adam Stumb presented the financing authorization resolution which will be the first step in funding for a new middle school.
Financing will be $47 million dollars, in addition to $15 million in lottery grants from the Ashe Board of Education.
According to the report, bids should be in by mid August, to provide an idea of final costs.
Approval for the final price will be set around mid September.
