The Boone Town Council has allocated more than $233,000 dollars of town funds to 14 organizations in the community.
The Watauga Democrat reports the July 13 meeting saw the council approve accepting funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, which allowed the town to expand their outside organization funding.
The Hospitality House received $41,000
Community Care Clinic $34,000
Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and Hunger and Health Coalition each received$24,000.
The Southern Appalachia Historical Association was allocated $22,000
OASIS received $21,000.
The Children's Playhouse received $16,366
Mountain Alliance and the Western Youth Network each received $13,000
WAMY Community Action was allocated $9,000
Friends of the Watauga County Public Library, LIFE Village and Watauga Food Council each got $5,000
Watauga County Project on Aging got $1,000.
