An Ashe County man has plead guilty to multiple internet crimes against children.

Watauga Online reports Brian Douglas Eller pleaded guilty Monday in Ashe County Superior Court on charges related to statutory sex offense with a child by an adult, statutory rape of a child by an adult, and first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Eller, age 30, of Creston, was age 27 when the North Carolina SBI received an investigative lead from the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force indicating Eller was sexually abusing a young child. The SBI Computer Crimes Unit executed a search warrant on Eller’s residence on January 24, 2018, and multiple devices were seized from the residence.

The investigation indicated an instant messaging mobile app was used by Eller and others to communicate with one another and trade files depicting child sexual abuse materials. Eller distributed the files he created of the young child with an individual in North Dakota.

Eller was charged with multiple counts surrounding the sexual abuse of a minor and the production of child sexual abuse materials.

Eller was sentenced to a minimum of 75 years in state prison.
