As of last Friday, the Watauga County Board of Elections had received 65 completed absentee ballots.

High Country Press reports Director Matt Snyder said that so far, 3,398 ballots had been requested and mailed out.

Snyder said that the vast majority of those that have been returned were brought into the office in person, and only a few have come in by mail.

According to the report, once early voting begins October 15, absentee ballots can be brought in to any early voting site in Watauga.

You can still return them in person to the office in the Watauga Administration Building, or by mail.

You cannot return absentee ballots at local polling places on election day.

You can still request an absentee ballot online at the states newly launched portal, at NCSBE.gov.

A sample ballot for the 2020 election can be found at the Board of Elections website at WataugaCounty.org.
