Here are the COVID-19 numbers for Tuesday from AppHealthCare and Toe River Health District.

On Tuesday, AppHealthCare reported 243 total COVID-19 cases in Watauga, with 99 active; Ashe with 100 total cases, and 34 active; Alleghany with 62 total cases, and 20 active cases. AppHealthCare is currently monitoring 62 individuals in Watauga, 50 in Ashe and 16 in Alleghany.

AppHealthCare is partnering with Mako Medical Laboratories to offer COVID-19 testing for Ashe County residents. Drive-thru testing will be available Saturday, August 1st 9:00am-2:00pm at Ashe High School, 184 Campus Drive, West Jefferson. Individuals must be residents of Ashe County and over 10 years of age. There is no cost for testing and no appointment is needed. Testing is available regardless of insurance status. However, if you have insurance, please bring a copy of your insurance information. Participants should be notified by Monday, August 3rd of their test results.

Toe River Health District reported Tuesday that Avery County had 4 new COVID-19 cases which puts them at 82 positive cases, and 18 active. Yancey County reported no new positives which leaves them at 94 positive cases, and 5 active. Mitchell County had 2 new positives which puts them at 108 positive cases, 14 active.
